Acute URI is characterized by sore throat, nasal congestion, cough, and sputum production, fever, headache. Because viruses cause most cases, antibiotics are not generally used.
Most cases are caused by respiratory viruses and occasionally by a bacterial infection.
Treatment Options: Azithromycin (Zpak), Doxycycline, Ceftin and more.
We do NOT treat patients experiencing high fever, chest pain, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
